Women of Celtic Song

这是一首著名的苏格兰民歌，在苏格兰几乎人人会唱。，在这首歌的背后却有着一个悲壮的故事。

1745年，苏格兰爆发了反抗英格兰的起义，当起义大军打到苏格兰和英格兰交界处时，一些受伤的起义战士掉了队，他们被英格兰人投入了卡莱尔（Carlisle）的监狱。这些苏格兰被俘战士中有两个好朋友，他们中的一个被判了死刑，另一个将被释放，而行刑和释放将在明天的同一时间进行。当晚，那个将被处决的战士唱了这首歌，怀念苏格兰那美丽的罗蒙湖，怀念家乡心爱的姑娘。

在苏格兰，人们相信，人死之后灵魂会顺着地下的道路，返回自己的家乡。

灵魂的路是平坦的，而那个活着的人必须在崎岖的山路上跋山涉水，所以死去的人的灵魂将先于活着的人回到自己美丽的家乡，回到美丽的罗梦湖畔。
